A gift set containing small bottles of Fleur de Peau, Eau Rose, Do Son, Orphéon and Philosykos eau de parfum. Looking for a little inspiration? Here’s the perfect gift to leave beneath the tree. For the lucky recipient, it’s a chance to discover the Maison Diptyque and its emblematic eau de parfum. To celebrate the holiday season, Diptyque is showcasing the magic of the flame in a unique manner. In the form of a calligram inspired by the poetic definition found in the Encyclopédie des Lumières, “flame” becomes the central motif of a special collection.
A pioneer of gender-free perfumery, diptyque draws on its inspirations – its real and imagined journeys – to create unique olfactory landscapes.
This Discover Set includes five travel sprays, each 0.25 oz.
Fleur de Peau: A tribute to the mythical love between Psyche and Eros, which led to the birth of their daughter, Hedone. The scents that best translate this legend into perfume: musks. At the heart of Fleur de Peau, they are in turn cottony, downy and soft. Highlighted with iris and ambrette seed, they reveal their full, tactile dimension.
Do Son: As a child, Yves Coueslant, one of diptyque’s founders, spent his summers in Do Son, on Ha Long Bay, where the sea breeze carried the heady, spicy scent of tuberoses. Do Son has the persistence and intensity of a memory of a childhood in Indochina: a memory, sumptuous and full, of a flower.
Philosykos: The memory of a Greek summer at Mount Pelion where, to get to the sea, there was a natural grove of wild sun-soaked fig trees to cross. Philosykos is an ode to the entire fig tree: the green freshness of the leaves, the milky flavour of the figs, the density of the wood. “Philosykos” means “friend of the fig tree” in Greek. A tree whose leaves and a few branches brought back in a memory box was the source of inspiration.
Orphéon: Orphéon is the olfactory portrait of an unforgettable place in the Saint-Germain district of 1960s Paris. In the warm atmosphere of this late-night bar, people lingered to the rhythm of jazz tunes and artistic friendships. The world was put to rights amid this joyful effervescence, between wisps of tobacco, the powdery trails of make-up and the familiar comfort of polished wood. A composition conceived as an olfactory memory, where the warmth of tonka bean meets the depth of cedar and the vivacity of juniper berries.
Eau Rose: In this composition, extracts and absolutes of damascena and centifolia roses amplify the flowers’ intensity. Firad rose essence is added to this duo, with its astonishing fruity accents of litchi, and unexpected, yet naturally present, notes: the honeyed accents of camomile, and a singular, green, vegetal accord of artichoke. After all, the perfumers say, “a good rose always smells of artichoke”. A surprising detour inspired by the fantasies of nature, for a rose with a playful and exhilarating character.
