Since 1900 and four family generations, in Salon-de-Provence, Marius Fabre have perpetuated the traditional production of Marseille soap , cooked in a cauldron. Economical , it lasts even longer after drying. For more than 120 years and four family generations, they have been making their Marseille soap from exclusively, rigorously selected vegetable oils. It does not contain any coloring or synthetic additives. It is not made from petroleum derivatives or animal fats like the majority of commercial soaps and shower gels.
The “Marseille-style” manufacturing process guarantees an “Extra pure” soap, rid of all impurities. It takes care of all skin types, especially the most sensitive (babies, allergic skin, etc.). Historical Marseille Soap must have the following:
1. A composition: vegetable oils exclusively, without perfume, without dye, without preservative.
2. A manufacturing process: cooking in a cauldron, according to a specific saponification process, called the “Marseille process”, comprising 5 stages. Cauldron manufacturing lasts from one week to 10 days.
3. A geographical origin: made in the historic Marseille soap-making basin: the Marseille region, today corresponding to the department of Bouches-du-Rhône (13).
