The Myrtle plant spends its days soaking up the sunshine on its native shores of the Mediterranean. Myrtle contains a variety of flavonoids, antioxidants and volatile oils, including eugenol. Myrtle leaf has a very pleasant flavor profile, like a very mild eucalyptus; it can be used like a bay leaf in culinary recipes, ground for spice, or taken as tea. As an herbal tea, Myrtle leaf has been traditionally used to support the immune and respiratory systems, keep hormones and blood sugar balanced, and to help maintain a healthy mind and mood.
